Press Freedom Treaties May Be Delayed
PARIS, Nov. 29.
Nine nations in the General Assembly's Human Rights Committee proposed delaying till next year’s General Assembly the final setting up of four international treaties on the freedom of the press and information. They suggested that C!) countries (11 of them non-members of the United Nations but. not Spain) be invited to a conference at Lake Success on March 28, 1949 to “pplish” the projected four treaties.
The nations who put the proposal were the United States, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, China, Denmark, Argentina. Bolivia and the Philippines.
