MUNICIPAL COMPOSTING
Sir, —As a member of the I-lumic Compost Society I thank you for your editorial of November 29 dealing with municipal composting. Some of your readers may be interested to know that the objects of the society are, amongst other things: (a) To make the general public, through the united efforts of members, more conscious of the dependence upon soil fertility for health, prosperity, and very existence, and to emphasise the grave community responsibility for conserving and building up this soil heritage, (b) To promote plant, animal, and human health and well-being in so far as these are directly related to sound methods of husbandry. Further information regarding the society may be obtained from HUGH PATTERSON, 1 Townley street, Gisborne.
