WAIAPU CRICKET ASSOCIATION TO FIELD REP. TEAMS

I The resumption of activities by the jWaiapu Cricket Association was en- ! clorscd unanimously by a meeting at j Ruatoria during the week-end of repreI sentatives of five clubs in the associaI tion's area which etxends from Hicks Bay to Tokomaru Bay. The meeting accorded a vote of thanks to Mr. W. Oates, who lias officiated as secretary and kept the association in being from the pre-war period. A committee of delegates of the five clubs was formed as follows: Messrs. G. Tamahori, P. Herewini (Te Arnroa); P, Whaipooti. H. M. Akers (Ruatoria): D, P. Cerierwal!. J. McArthur (Tokomaru Bay): 11. Jackson (Bortlnvickst; G. Mill, P. Maxwell (Mata). Mr. Cederwall was appointed as chairman, Mr. McArthur as secretary and Mr. Jackson as treasurer. Messrs. Cederwall and Whaipooti were appointed as representative selectors. The club affiliation fee was fixed at 2cns. Play is being arranged immediately for the challenge trophies, the Duco Cup, held by Ruatoria. and the Loisel Cup, held by Te Araroa. A representative game with a Poverty Bay team is to be played this month and an endeavour is being made to arrange for a visit also by a Bay of Plenty eleven.
