Another Shield For Otago,
Otago has added to the many national championship sporting trophies held by the province the Allchurch Shield, the provincial points prize at the Dominion annual skating championships. The success was due to the performances of Miss H. David and R. Davys, winners of the waltzing and two-step titles and Miss P. Harrington, who won the women’s solo championship. Miss Harrington defeated the former national champion, Mrs. J. Allchurch, who competed recently in the world chamionships held in the United States. The Allchurch Shield was first contested in 1945. Otago took it that year and Canterbury won the trophy in 1946 and m?*.-
