“AUSTRALIAN COINS SHOULD BE RECALLED”
(P.R.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. “At present some people are accepting Australian coins at their face value while others-are not, and sooner or later, as things are, someone is going to be caught short,” said Mr. C. Carr (Govt., Timaru) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Carr gave notice that he would ask the Minister of Finance to consider calling S|jn the Australian coinage in New Zealand owing to its depreciation following the reduction of the exchange rate.
