N.S.W. TO TRY OUT HOUSES FROM SWEDEN
SYDNEY, Aug. 30.
The State Minister of Housing, Mr. C. Evatt, said that an order had been placed by the New South Wales Government with a Swedish firm for four experimental prefabricated houses. If they prove satisfactory contracts will be drawn up for hundreds of ready-cut wooden houses from Sweden for the Housing Commission. T'"~ experimental houses ordered are of different types and will cost £660 each. Only the wooden component will be imported. Roofing, glazings, ironwork and all fittings will be added in New South Wales.
The houses will be two-bedroom types of about 750 square feet.
