Regent —"The Loves of Joanna Godden,” starring Coogee Withers, ’ Jean Kent, John McCallum and Derek Bond, is the current attraction at the Regent. Presented by J. Arthur Rank, the British picture is pictorially beautiful and is earning the praise of competent critics everywhere. A special programme for the children is set down for tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. and consists of a Western and suitable supports. Majestic.—Paramount’s outdoor classic in colour, "Silver City,” heads today’s programme. This ia one of the big productions of the year and stars Randolph Scott, Barbara Button, George "Gabby” Hayes and Lon Chaney. A bright array of featurettes includes "Tho Princess’ Wedding,” finals of. the Olympic Games, a colour cartoon, "Speaking of Animals,” and two newsreels. Tomorrow's programme will be headed by Roy Rogers' latest picture "Under Nevada Skies.” King’s.—“ Return of Badmen,” which begins today, is described as "the mightiest saga of frontier outlaws.” Those who like daring riders and men quick on the trigger should find plenty of excitement when the Daltons and the James boys ride on their nefarious raids. Prominent actors are Randolph Scott, Anne Jeffreys and George Hayes. To further provide for the children, a morning matinee will he held on Wednesday at 10.30 o’clock.
