SMALL 'QUAKE FELT IN WELLINGTON
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 30. A minor shock of earthquake was felt in Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday. There are reports that it was felt elsewhere. . ... The acting-Government seismologist, Mr. R. C. Hayes, estimated that it was force 2 on the Mercalli scale. Electric fittings were barely set swinging.
