THIRD WIN AGAINST RUGBY CHAMPIONS
CELTIC SUCCESS
P.B. KNOCK-OUT SERIES In the opening series of the senior knock-out of the P.B. Rugby Union on Saturday tire' Celtic fifteen defeated the championship winners, Old Boys, for flic third time this season - though the margin was one point only, while 11.5.0.8. took a narrow decision over Marist, thus reversing the result in the premiership third round.
Junior and intermediate teams were grouped in the junior knock-out competition in which the champions, Old Boys. defeated the intermediate division-winners, 11.5.0.8-, and the runners-up for the championship, Celtic, entered the second round by defeating Marist. The third game of the day scheduled In this competition went to Y.M.P. by default. Marist, winners of the third grade championship, were eliminated in the first game of the knock-out competition by Old Boys, joint runners-up with H. 5.0.8. for the championship. Fine, mild weather favoured the play which was generally fast, but the waning of public interest following the completion of the championship contests was reflected in the lowest attendance of the year.
