WHALE ASHORE AT WELLINGTON
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 3. Efforts by three launches to tow out to sea a 35ft. whale washed up on the Island Bay beach on Sunday failed.
The Director of the Dominion Museum, Dr. R. A. Falla, who made an inspection soon after the whale was discovered, said he thought it was a blue whale. Another effort to move the carcase will be made this morning.
