REBELS REPULSED AFTER STRONG ATTACK
(9.30 a.m.) ATHENS. July 23. A Greek General Staff communique said rebels launched a strong diversionary action in the mountains 20 miles south-east of Patras. Goverment troops and the Greek Air Force repulsed the rebels with heavy losses. Post, telegraph and telephone workers throughout Greece began a strike in protest against the Government’s refusal to increase wages. Only telegrams from the Defence and Public Order Ministries will be accepted.
