Finnish-Born Prospector Finds Rich Quartz Gold Near Tamworth
SYDNEY, July 23. A gold-bearing reef has been found near Nundle township, 37 miles from Tamworth, by Finnish-born Mr. Alex Tarvaincn. The reef is 18 inches wide and 10 feet underground. It was discovered near where gold worth £14,000 was once obtained from a pocket. Mr| Tarvaincn appeared at the warden's office with a bundle of gold studded with quartz samples, shouting, “I have found it! I told you I would!” A constable who saw the specimens said that Mr. Tarvainen would be a rich man if the whole reef was as good as the specimens.
