Majestic.—Melodious is the word for “The Jolson Story,” for everywhere in the re-telling of this panorama of show business appear the beloved tunes that Jolson made famous and which remain just as famous today. There is no segment of his past, whether it be vaudeville and burlesque days in the hinterlands, years of successive hits on Broadway, or his career in Hollywood, that does not conjure up at least half a dozen haunting melodies; now, they are all together in one imposing film. Larry Parks, as Jolson, comes into prominence as a new star.
