FRENCH AIRLINER DOWN IN SEA: 15 PERSONS ADRIFT
PARIS, July 21
French naval launches are searching for eight passengers nnc. the crew of seven who are believed to be adrift iri rubber dinghies following a forced landing at sea of a French airliner 80 miles off the French coast.
The plane was bound from Algeria to France with 13 passengers aboard when it was forced down.
One of the rescue planes which answered the S.O.S. —a Dornier flyingboat—crashed on landing beside the wrecked plane but none of the crew was hurt.
A tug was sent from Marseilles to tow the Dornier to base. Another plane rescued five of the passengers fiom the airliner.
