Old Trophy Re-Appears
The re-appearance of a handsome trophy, presented by James Watson and Company, a Scottish distilling firm, in 1914. occasioned some reminiscent discussion at the annual meeting of the Kahutia Bowling Club last evening. The trophy was a silver rose-bowl of a quality and design not often obtainable in these days, and was returned to the club by the family of a new-deceased member, Mr. Arthur Sawyer, who won it outright in 1914. The meeting agreed that the rose-bowl be inscribed as the Arthur Sawyer Memorial Trophy, and the committee was asked to designate a suitable competition as an annual fixture.
