MR. L. T. BURNARD presided over Messrs. E.’J. Poswillo, T. W. Sewell, H- P. Hamilton, T. H. Shields, J. H. Hall and F W. Nolan at the monthly meeting yesterday of the Gisborne High School Board of Governors.
MR. T. B. HEATH, who was manager of the Wellington branch of the Bank of New South Wales for many years before his retirement two years ago, and a former manager at Gisborne, has been appointed to the New Zealand board of the Norwich Union Life Insurance Society in place of the late Mr. A. R. Sclanders. MR. A. W. BUTT, Sherenden, Hawke's Bay, is to receive from the Hawke's Bay Provincial executive of Federated Farmers the award of a certificate of merit in recognition of his past services. The award, which was only recently instituted, was recommended by Mr. F. L. Forde on behalf of the Matapiro branch and this is the first occasion o n which it has been awarded in the Hawke’s Bay district.
