Wellington Leads in Women’s Golf Matches
(P.A.) WANGANUI, July 22. The interprovincial women’s golf matches between teams representing Wanganui, Taranaki, Manawatu and Wellington was continued on the Belmont course yesterday. Wellington beat Wanganui by two fourball matches to one, and four singles to one. One fourball and one singles match were halved. Taranaki and Manawatu squared the fourball matches, both scoring a win with one match halved, but in the singles Taranaki won five matches with one halved.
Wellington now has four points and Wanganui and Taranaki two points each. Chief Interest yesterday centred in the match between Mrs. H. Murray, Miramar, and Miss J. Duncan, Wanganui, which the former won 4 and 2. The event will be concluded today when Wellington plays Manawatu and Wanganui meets Taranaki.
