Moves To Match Louis and Lesnevitch For Title
NEW YORK, July 13.
The Twentieth Century Sporting Club admitted officially that it has been making every effort to persuade Joe Louis to forget about retiring and fight Gus Lesnevich, in defence of his heavyweight title, at Yankee Stadium, New York, on September 22. Louis has not yet written to the New York Boxing Commission or the National Boxing Association stating that he is relinquishing his title.
