SHORT CALENDAR
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 19. ‘‘l am very happy to say that you have a very short calendar to consider this morning, with eight bills of indictment against nine persons,” said Mr. Justice Fair in his address to the grand jury at the opening of the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court today. His Honour said the indictments were for rape, carnal knowledge, two of indecent assault, one of breaking, entering and theft, two of theft, and one of obtaining money by false pretences. A no bill was returned in the indictment of carnal knowledge.
