COAL BOARD MAKES £501,000 PROFIT
(10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. The National Coal Board has announced that it made an estimated profit of £501,000 during the first quarter of 1948.
The total coal output during the quarter was 48,028,892 tons. This is well below the quarterly average required if the 211,000.000 tons production target for 1948 is to be achieved.
