KIDNAPPED BRITONS

(10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. Britain would not recognise the right of any Palestine Jewish court to try British subjects, said the Colonial Under-Secretary, Mr. C. P. Mayhew, in the House of Commons today. He was commenting on a Haganah statement that five Britons kidnapped in Jerusalem on July 8 would be tried. Mr. Mayhew said the proper course for the Jewish authorities was to surrender the men to the United Nations Commission.
