RUSSIA TO PURCHASE SIAMESE TIN
.(10.45 a.m.) BANGKOK, June 20. The Siamese Government has lifted export controls on tin ore. The controls, which originated from the Washington Combined Tin Commit*, tee, previously stipulated that Siamese ore was exportable only to those countries authorised by the Washington committee. It is believed that one of the reasons for lifting the ban may have been the offer by a Soviet trade representative In Bangkok last week to buy an unlimited quantity of tin from Siam.
