OBITUARY
MR H. A. A. HAMILTON Mr. Hugh Arthur Ashburner Hamilton died in the Cook Hospital on Saturday at the age of 72 years. Born in Christchurch, he was married at Te Horo. Port Awanui, East Coast, at the age of 28 years to Florence Iritana Brooking. During many years' residence in Gisborne he became well-known, especially for his keen interest in cricket, for which game lie acteu as an umpire. He was also a member of the Fire Police in Gisborne and during the war was active in the E.P.S. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, six sons and five daughters. There are also 12 grand-children. Mr. C. J. Hamilton. Manutuke, and Messrs. H. P. and P. H. Hamilton. Gisborne, are brothers of the deceased. A service was to be held 'his afternon in Cochrane’s chapel, after which the funeral was to leave for the Tcruheru cemetery.
