NAVVY WHO DIED A PEER
LONDON, May 10.
Lord Dukeston —the navvy who rose to the peerage—died in London today, aged 67. He was born Charles Dukes, and was a member of the National Union of General and Municipal Workers in 1933 when elected to Parliament. He served two years at Westminster and since 1934 had been a member of the Trades Union Congress General Council.
