MONTGOMERY WARNS BRITAIN’S YOUTH
(11 a.m.) LONDON, June 6. The Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Field Marshal Lord Montgomery, in receiving the freedom of Leamington, said that it was dangerous to think that we fought the war to secure peace. Youth must be prepared for the moment to sacrifice peace, if necessary, to secure freedomgand justice in the world. "Our young people must understand that we were fighting for freedom and justice,” he added. "When we get those two, peace follows automatically.”
