AUSTRALIA’S BIG DOLLAR DEFICIT
CANBERRA. June 5. Despite cuts in imports from the United States and Canada, Australia will this financial year spend 150,000,000 more dollars than she earns, according to an authoritative source The deficit for the yean ended June 30 last, when there were no restrictions on dollar imports, was 100,000,000 dollars. To bridge the gap between this year’s dollar spendings and earnings Australia will obtain 150,000,000 dollars from the British Empire dollar pool.
