Mr. Eric Turk, of Radlett, Hertfordshire, a former director of Consolidated Goldfields of New Zealand, who died-, on April 16, left an estate valued at £616,237.

Mr. Turk, after detailing numerous bequests, left the balance of the residue, totalling several thousands sterling, for the education or professional or business advancement of Jewish children, preferably from Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia, who were victims of Hitler’s persecution or of conditions resulting in such persecution. The Jews of Cairo donated £40,000 and the Jews of Alexandria £20,000 as a greeting to Egypt and her army and as an expression of loyalty to King Farouk.
