SOLID Y.M.P. GAME
The Y.M.P. junior side was a good deal too solid for Union, whose forwards were willing but played as individuals rather than as a pack. Weight and combination were both on the Y.M.P. side, which also developed a strong capacity to finish off its attacks, winning by 24 points to 0. For the winners E, Whaitiri scored two tries, H. Maynard, D. Ria and Wilson one each, and W. Taylor kicked a penalty goal and converted three tries. The Union points were scored by 11. Kirk, a try, and S. McKay, a field goal. Mr. P. Balfour was the referee.
