AMUSEMENTS

King’s.—Starring Margaret Lockwood with Patricia Roc and Dennis Price, J. Arthur Rank’s Technieolour film, “Jussy,” heads the programme. Margaret Lockwood is the daughter of a gipsy who marries to recover for a friend his ancestral seat. In the book Jassy was hanged for a murder she did not commit, but in the film she is tried, found guilty, but not hanged, as her dumb servant confesses to the crime herself. As the lawyer says, the recovery of her voice at so convenient a point (except for the dumb girl) is surely a miracle. Miss Lockwood has much tile same role as the “Wicked Lady.” but in a slightly different way. Regent.—Those favourite "highwaymen” are on the move again. Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, aided and abetted by Dorothy Lamour, have hit the road. This time its the “Road to Rio,” which i 3 being screened at the Regent. On their previous "trips” to Singapore. Morocco, Zanzibar, and Utopia, these downs have hit the high spots in wonderful fun and song, but this trek to South America even outdoes them. Its gags come thick and fast, the laughs are just one long continuous one, and the songs are more tuneful than ever. Majestic.—"My Pal Trigger” is a delightful story about a cowboy and his horse. The cowboy is Roy Rogers and the horse is "Trigger.” also in the cast are Dale Evans, George. "Gabby." Hayes and the Sons of the Pioneers. The touching moments are ably balanced by songs and comedy by the Sons of the Pioneers, and a couple of tuneful numbers presented by Roy Rogers and Miss Evans. There is a good line-up of featurettes.
