AUCKLAND, June 5. “It will come as a considerable surprise to many people, especially those in the flooded areas of the East Coast, to find that the Minister of Finance has so flatly refused to entertain any proposals for the use\of the earthquake and war damage fund, which has reached a total of more than £5,300,000,” said the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. S.
