WOOLLEN GOODS

AUSTRALIAN EXPORTS CANBERRA, May 15’. Australian manufacturers are planning to export knitted goods to earn dollars. Local supplies of knitted goods arc sufficient to meet demands and the Federal Government has removed restrictions on their export to dollar countries. Manufacturers may also send 40 per cent, of production to “soft currency’’ areas. They say they can export woollen knitted goods at prices cheaper than comparable American products. Manufacturers hope to develop permanent markets and will emphasise the need for attractive packing and high standard of goods.
