TWO-DAY TOURNEY
INDOOR BASKETBALL
GISBORNE ASSEMBLY Five Wellington men representatives including G. Milne, N. Hayman and K. Larsen, who were chosen in a Dominion side last season are among the visitors expected to take part in the second tournament of the Gisborne Indoor Basketball Association for the Kendon and Caughey cups being held at the Army Hall on Saturday and Monday. The trio mentioned belong to Bargers, a particularly fast combination. The Wellington women’s teams to compete will also number several representative players. Other visiting teams will be drawn from the Auckland, Hawke’s Bay and Whakatane districts. Women's teams are to contest the Caughey Cup and men’s sides the Kendon Cup. Gisborne teams won both trophies in the first tournament.
Play is to commence at 9 a.m. on both days. ' Saturday’s concluding game is timed to start shortly after 4 p.m. and Monday’s timetable has been arranged so as to complete the finals by approximately 2.30, thus giving opportunity to supporters to witness the final stages of the tourney as well as the rep. Rugby game being played on the Oval. A welcome dance for- all teams is being arranged for Saturday evening at the Army Hall.
