MALE NURSES FORM SEPARATE SOCIETY

The Society of Registered Male Nurses of New Zealand was incorporated at Wellington on May 24. Full membership is limited to registered male nurses and registered male psychiatric nurses, but bona fide male student, nurses may become associate members. The association is representative of all the male nurses stored under the Nurses and Mich, .ves Act, 1945, and none of its men is entitled to, or expected to, join the Hotel, Restaurant and Hospital Domestics’ Union. The hospital board employees’ regulations. 1947, provides for an association of a class of employees ol' a hospital board to be recognised by the Minister of Health for the purposes of the regulations The Minister may upon the application of such an association refer matters concerning wages and other conditions of employment to the advisory committee constnuted under the regulations. The newly-formed society is in negotiation with the f Minister of Health, Miss Mabel Howard, on behalf of all registered male nurses in New Zealand.
