GISBORNE COMPETITIONS

Though one of the B grade garnet in the women’s section achieved prominence through the unusual occurence of one team failing to score, contests on the whole were close in this week's play of the Gisborne Indoor Basketball Association. Victors in the exceptional game were Sparks who ran up 18 points against Midway.

In the men’s A grade competition the most exciting match was that in which Sioux beat Banbams 21-19. Highlight of the women’s competitions was the de--cision by the narrow margin of two points gained by Wolverines over Power Board. The Celtic B grade men’s side created a surprise In defeating United by two points. Woolworths and Squib? provided the best game in the women’s B grade matches. Results follow.
