BUILDING PERMITS BACK TO NORMAL AFTER RECESSION

Following a recession in April, permits issued by .the Gisborne Borough Council for the erection and alteration of houses and buildings came-back to their average figure last month. Nine permits were issued for the erection of private dwellings, the total value of the actual buildings being £12,373. To this figure must be added approximately £2OO per house for the cost of sanitary plumbing. Permits for eight alterations to private dwellings, aggregating £IB3O, were also issued.

Four alterations, costing £1062, to buildings other than private dwellings were also authorised.

The building permits issued during the month were, therefore, nine for new buildings, aggregating £12,373, and 12 for alterations totalling £2892.
