POWER TO HOLD PATIENTS URGED
(P.A.) DARGAVILLE. June 1. Legislation is to be brought down during the next session of Parliament giving hospitals greater powers in dealing with tuberculosis cases, the Minister of Health. Miss M. Howard, told the Kaipara Hospital Board yesterday. The board chairman, Mr. G.- Stallworthy, said members were concerned at the present position where relatives could take a patient out of a hospital wha was at death's door to die.
"The Government should provide power for quarantining such cases at a hospital.” declared Mr. Stallworthy. "When they are taken out. just a mass of germs as at present, all the work done by the hospital is undone.”
