SHEPHERD, Under Secretary, Department of Maori Affairs. 25/5/1948. 205 COOK COUNTY COUNCIL CLOSING OF ROADS TO HEAVY TRAFFIC PUBLIC Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Cook County Council held on the 27th day of May, 1948, the following resolution was passed:— ‘‘ln pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the provision of clause 3 of Regulation 7 of the Heavy MotorVehicle Regulations 1940 and upon the grounds and for the period hereinafter stated, the Cook County Council prohibits the use of any heavy motorvehicle upon all or any of the roads specified in the schedule hereto when the weight of such vehicle exceeds 5 tons or the weight of such vehicle with its load exceeds 5 tons. The said prohibition shall commence to operate on the 10th clay of June, 1948. and shall continue to operate until and including the 30th day of September, 1948. The said prohibition is imposed upon the grounds that the surface of the roads would be seriously damaged if permitted for the period specified to bear the weight of the heavy motorvehicles the use of which is hereinbefore prohibited.
