POPE FEELS TRUCE IS DAWN OF HOPE
(10 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, June 2. The Pope, broadcasting to the Homan Catholic world on the occasion of his “Name Day,” said that the Palestine truce “may be accepted as the dawn of hope. he Pope expressed his thanks to “all in the world who are fighting for the kingdom of peace.” He said there was a conflict in the world for supremacy between spirit and matter, the order of reason and the chaos of irrationalism. Christian feelings, resolutions and acts must be turned towards assaults upon the dignity of the human being.
