Owing to illness suil'ered liy the Hawke’s Bay middle-weight, X. Dornan, the Gisborne Boxing Association has been compelled to postpone (lie tournament to have been held on Thursday of next week.
The deferred programme is to be presented on June 28 with the middleweight professionals, J. Hughes. England and F. Endacott, Australia, in tlie principal contest and leading amateurs providing the supports.
Dornan, who • was matched with Hughes in the list planned for next Thursday, is the victim of a severe bout of influenza and has reluctantly withdrawn. Dornan is a popular figure in boxing circles and hopes for his speed recovery will be coupled with regrets concerning his inability to keep the Gisborne engage, rnent.
