IS DRIVER LIABLE?
FIRE ENGSNE ACCIDENT TRAFFIC LIGHT BREACHES (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 29. To what extent is the driver of a fire engine liable if it should cause an injury while crossing against a traffic light? This question was again considered by the Fire Board when the Brigadesmen’s Union notified that members were concerned over the position. The chairman, Mr. B. Brigham, reported that he had been advised that the Road Safety Council was considering a new regulation to cover the position. Mr- Brigham pointed out that the driver was always under the instructions of an officer. .
