WEST PREPAREDNESS
EVENT OF SUDDEN SOVIET BLOW BRITISH-U.S. EMERGENCY PLAN (N.Z.P.A.—Reuter— Copyright.) (11.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 27. It is authoritatively reported from Washington that Britain and the United States have prepared an emergency plan for joint co-operation in the event of a sudden attack by Russia in Europe or elsewhere. Under the scheme the British and American staffs will maintain close day-to-day contact so that the forces of both will be ready for anything. It is reported that representatives of the British General Staff recently made a secret visit to their opposite numbers in Washington.
