FLEET CELEBRATIONS
WARSHIPS ILLUMINATED SYDNEY, April 27. The silver wedding anniversary of Their Majesties was celebrated quietly throughout Australia with flags and special radio programmes. Ships of the Royal Australian Navy were dressed and the Royal salute of 21 guns was fired from the cruiser Australia lying at anchor in Sydney harbour. Last night the ships were illuminated and the Australia hoisted a 30ft. replica of the Crown picked out in lights. Thanksgiving services are being held today. CANADA’S GREETINGS OTTAWA, April 2G. After the singing of the National Anthem and giving three cheers for the King and Queen, the House of Commons today carried a resolution of sincere congratulations to Their Majesties on their wedding anniversary.
