Established 1849 NINETY-NINTH ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE is hereby given that the NINETY NINTH ANNUAL MEETING of the members of the Society will be held in the Society's Head Office Building, 87 Pitt Street, Sydney, _ at 2.30 o'clock in the afternoon of Friday, 4th June, 1943, for the purpose of: 1. Receiving the report of the Directors on the business of the Society for the year ended 3ist December, 1947. 2. Receiving the declaration of the result of the election of Directors. 3. Electing an Auditor in lieu of E. S. Woifenden Esq.. A.I. A., F.C.A. (Aust.), who retires in terms of By-law 83 and is eligible for reelection. By-law 83 (c) provides that no member'other than a retiring Auditor shall be eligible for election as Auditor unless notice in writing of his candidature shall have been given to the Society at least 30 days previous to the Annual Meeting. NOTICE is also hereby given that a Ballot for the Election of Two Directors will be held at each office and at the Fiji Agency of the Society on Monday, 17th May, 1948, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Hon. Thomas Alfred John PLAYFAIR, M.L.C., is retiring in terms of By-law 51 and the Director due to retire in terms of By-law 55 is Cecil Harold HOSKINS. Both the retiring Directors arc candidates for re-election. The following members have also given the requisite notice that they are candidates: John Edward GARVAN, Leonard McKAY and Oscar Adolf MENDELSOHN. Any member may vote personally at the Ballot at the Branch or District Office at which his premiums are payable or by signing and forwarding to such Office before the Ballot closes a Voting paper obtainable on application. Anv member whose premiums are payable at the Fiji Agency may vote there either personally or by post: and one whose premiums are payable at any other Agency (as distinct from a Branch or District Office) may so vote at the Head or Branch Office at which his policy is registered. Under By-law 57 (f>. Powers of Attorney must be produced 48 hours before the opening of the Ballot at the Head or Branch Office at which the member’s policy is registered, and not at District Offices.
