The Transport Department’s check of lighting on motor vehicles has still a week to run, and officers of the department in Gisborne continued to find instances of negligence wTITch might involve hazards in night driving, especially when rainy conditions affect visibility Failures of tail-lights now provide a majority of the cases requiring attention, but the manipulation of dipping devices bv many motorists continue to be slack, particularly in the direction of tardy recognition of the rights of approaching traffic. Settings of motor-vehicle lights in Gisborne is good in general, and reflects credit upon garage staffs who have carried out this work. „
