GISBORNE MARKSMAN JEUNE TOP SCORER Ten shots each at 500 yards and 000 yards comprised the programme for members of the Gisborne Defence Rillc Club on the Sponge Bay range on Saturday afternoon in the weekly Handicap match. At the opening range <V, registered top score with 48 points, dropping his two lost shots Into the inner ring. The top scorer at the 500 yards distance was F. 4. Jeune, with 48 points and with 47 nt the 500 yards he secured first place in the match with a scratch total of 95 of a possible 100. P. Benncy. who also shot well at both distances, filled second place in the match with a gross score ot 93 also, while I Caie, with a similar aggregate, was third. In the championship aggregate R. Elliott improved his. position in the A Grade from seventh place to fifth, while in the B Grade T. Lamberton now leads R Dolman by three points In the C Grade, R. Andrews had a onepoint lead over I. Caie. Next Saturday the final match over the short ranges will be held. The Holden Cup teams match, which will conclude the season's programme, will take place on May 9.
