Tuhura. Mr. D. Goldsmith was the referee. Play By Juniors * In the junior knock-out competition for the McCluthie Cup High School defeated United 14 —3, and Hikui'angi aeleatd City 22 —0. The winners mwt in the final on Saturday. City made a fair showing in the first spell against Hikurangi. At the interval the seoi'e was 11—nil. Hikurangi ruled the second spell and ran up another 11 points while City still failed to score. Sam Reedx- opened the score with a dropped goal shortly after the game opened. Tides by Sonny Nepia and J. Hongara followed S. Reedy converting one. In the second spell ts. Haua, K. Katene and Reedy added tries, Reedy again getting a * conversion also. Mr. T. Seymour was the referee. High School showed superior fitness, and a willingness for open play in the match with United. Kono Waihi received the ball from a lineout and went over near the corner to open the school score. Waihi later landed a fine penalty goal from nearly half-way. United's only points came from a try by A. HorsefielK, while further, tries for School were registered by Poananga and W. Rauna, one being converted by Waihi. Mr. D. Oneroa was the referee.
