COAL FROM S. AFRICA
USE BY N.Z. RAILWAYS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. April 2G. A trial shipment of 3000 tons of South African coal is to arrive at Wellington in the Clare Park from Laurence Marques on May 21. The coal is to be used by tlic railways and. it is undersood, if it proves satisfactory further large quantities will be ordered. This is the first South African coal received in New Zealand since 1921 when 5000 tons was brought. The only other shipment was 5000 tons in 1914.
