DECONTROL SUCCEEDS
RETAIL LAMB PRICES LONDON, April 26. The experiment of decontrolling the retail prices of lamb has been completely successful, according to Mr. T. A. Herbert, secretary of the Meat and Allied Trades Federation. He said it had been demonstrated that there would be ho wild spiralling of prices as lamb prices had soon reached their natural trading level. Better cuts had risen slightly, but this had been offset by the fall in prices of other cuts. Since decontrol, the wholesale lamb prices had fallen sharply indicating the collapse of the black market
