COAL OUTPUT RISES
33.490 TONS UP IN QUARTER (P.A.) ' WELLINGTON, April 24. The coal output for March showed an increase of 24.407 tons compared with March, 1947, stated the Minister of Mines, Mr. A. McLagan, last night. The Minister said that for the three months ended March 31 the output increased by 33,490 tons as compared with the same period last year. A pleasing feature was that the underground output was up by not less than 27,196 tons as compared with the first three months of 1947.
