SCHOOLBOY ATHLETES REDWOOD TOP HOUSE SEASON’S CHAMPIONS Very even competition with a good standard of performance characterised the annual athletic championships of ihp Gisborne Marist High School held Road Reserve last week events brought the majority into action and honours distributed over the four houses,'tijji'e margins being small in comparison with the total points. Redwood proved the top house with a total of 177 points, Xavier being next with 150. only 11 ahead of Fompallier with 139, while Bosco came close up .With 134. Title Winners’ Performances The outstanding individual competitor ;was the senior champion, B. Donovan, •who took points in each of the eight running and field events, winning five and being runner-up in two and equal runner-up in one. The respective champions in the ether divisions also achieved remark- : jable successes. The intermediate hitle-winner, P. Bennett, won four of seven events and divided first honours in another. M. Merritt won six of the [junior championship events and was second in the other and also won one of the handicaps, while M. Barry won (four of the midget division running and Reaping championships and was second in the other two, besides winning a "handicap cycle race. Detailed results follow: School Champions.—Senior: B.
